Caught at Widow’s Home, Local Official Dodges Media by Citing Journalist Brother

Limapuluh kota – Residents of the Balai Batuang sub-district in Payakumbuh were shocked by an incident involving a representative from the Limapuluh Kota regency council who was allegedly visiting the home of an attractive widow late at night. It is rumored that the widow works in the same office as the official.

When local community leaders and residents approached the house, the official fled into the darkness of the night. After the council member was found in a field, residents brought him back to the widow’s house.

From circulating photos, the council member, wearing a hat, can be seen sitting with his head down, as if hiding his face from the gazes of the residents during the incident.

This issue began to surface among news reporters based on information provided by residents who were present during the raid that night (8/4/25).

Based on this information from residents, the media began searching for the official, identified by the initial (H), by visiting the council office in the Sarilamak nagari area (8/13/25) to confirm the circulating rumors.

However, the reporters who wanted to meet with the official were disappointed because he was unavailable, reportedly due to being in a meeting.

When contacted by this media outlet for confirmation on the night of (8/13/25) via a WhatsApp message, (H) immediately called the outlet.

Funnily enough, during the conversation, (H) claimed his brother was also a journalist.

“I know the media personnel you mentioned,” this reporter stated. “We reporters each have our own media outlets. If a story is from me, other reporters cannot intervene, and vice versa,” this reporter told the official.
